Manoir Saint Croix P'tit Chef Acadmy Cooking School

 

P’tit Chef Academy is based in Sainte Croix, a 16 th century manor house situated in the small picturesque village of Fleury sur Orne. The historical city of Caen is just a few minutes’ drive from the academy. The chef, Johnnatan Gallais, is renowned for his culinary skills acquired in Paris and from his extensive worldwide travels.

 

With a warm welcome among the contemporary decor where the interior has been sympathetically modernised to give a high standard kitchen, enjoy participating in our cooking courses and wine tasting evenings.

 

 

 

 

Cooking School P'tit Chef AcademyThe cooking courses at the academy are 2 hours duration, allowing you time to prepare your starter, main and dessert for the evening, based upon traditional French Norman cuisine. Once the course has finished, you will be able to enjoy the fruits of your labour and experience the gourmet meal in our private dining room.

 

You may also wish to extend your skills by participating in our wine tasting evenings where our sommelier, will guide you through many French wines. The wine tasting evening is approximately 2 and half hours duration, after which you will have a greater knowledge of wines to compliment your meals. We provide the wines along with the amuse bouches between each wine tasted; all you need to do is make sure your taste buds are ready. All courses are available in either French or English. After the courses you may wish to re-create your new found culinary skills, for this purpose we have a small shop located at the academy, where you can purchase the necessary food and equipment to enable you to impress your friends and family at home.

 


Individual Cooking Courses


Heure Chrono :


In 1 hour learn to create 2 recipes, starter and main with explanations and demonstrations from the chef. Eat in our dining room establishment. Diploma, recipe book, apron and chef’s hat will be provided.

Every Friday night at 20H30, the menu is changed each Friday to coincide with our weekly themes.

Atelier Culinaire:

 

Within 2 hours learn how to create a starter, main and dessert with explanations and demonstrations from the chef. Eat in our dining room establishment. Diploma, recipe book, apron and chef’s hat will be provided.

Cooking courses are available from Monday to Saturday, 10-12H, 14-16H, 18-20H and Thursday night 21-23H. Each week is a different theme, for example: Patisserie, Thai food, French food, etc. Please consult the calendar for more details.

Group cooking courses

 

Traditional Crêpes:

 

Within this cooking course children will prepare the mix for the pancakes, with explanations from the chef. Each child will then have the opportunity to cook their pancake using a traditional ‘’French crêprière’’ after which they are able to eat in our dining room. Drinks, recipe, diploma, apron and chef’s hat will be provided. This presentation lasts approximately 1 hour.

Traditional crêpes and bread making:

 

Within this cooking course children will prepare their pancake and bread mixtures, with explanations from the chef. They will cook their pancake, to be eaten on site whilst the cooked bread is to be taken away. Drinks, recipe, diploma, apron and chef’s hat will be provided. This presentation lasts approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.

Bread making:

 

Within this cooking course children will make their French bread, baguette or wholemeal, with explanations from the chef. This will then be taken away once cooked. Drinks, recipe, diploma, apron and chef’s hat will be provided. This presentation lasts approximately 1 hour.
